Introduction to Oz
Australia is the world's largest island and smallest continent.
We have a diversity of climate, flora and fauna that is extraordinary.
Our landscape is ancient but our written history is short. Our character
has been build out of hardship but not out of internal conflict.
Australia is a "lucky country" in that, despite our shortcomings,
we have been blessed with peace, freedom and material prosperity.
Take the time to learn a little about us, laugh at our foibles,
be touched by our literature and marvel at some of our physical
beauty.

song about a homeless, itinerant worker who stole a sheep,
got cornered by the cops and jumped into the waterhole and
drowned.
